They do it every Monday morning, the first day of school week. They all look forward to their turn to pick a country. Must close eyes and not peek. They trust the Holy Spirit to guide their finger to a country that needs their prayer. Then they study information about the country - its people and culture, the currency, the flag, etc. Then together in a small circle, they gather, eyes closed they hold the globe.
One prays for the children, then another for the parents and teachers. The eldest prays for the government and the its leaders. Our homeschoolers understand the need to pray for every nation.
But today, they didn't do the usual routine. No need to pick a country. They all knew what country needed their prayer most - The Philippines. They watched the flood stricken areas on the internet. They're all familiar to those places. They gather again, held their own flags and began to lift their own nation to God.
And as he taught them, he said, "Is it not written: " 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'....."
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
