"Where did my childhood go?"

Sings Mr. Chipping in the movie Goodbye, Mr. Chips.

My littlest child asked me tonight what did Mr. Chips mean with that question? I had to explain first the meaning of the word 'childhood' and then also told her that some people didn't have memorable childhood. This made me think of my own...

I thank God for my childhood.
It wasn't perfect and I didn't get all I wanted but I know I had a happy one.

There was never a time when I felt "alone".
I know God was always there for me.

I didn't think of danger before.
Only later I realized how vulnerable I was, but He was there to protect me.

I praise God that I passed that stage, and that I can look back with a smile.

Last night, I had a vision of a child, alone and helpless. I prayed for that anonymous child, that she would be kept safe from any form of harm and danger...that her innocence and childhood be kept as God intended it to be....

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones.
For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven."
Matthew 18:10

it takes maturity to appreciate ones childhood.:p
i used to envy my friends who can go to the beach anytime, without adult supervision. now i understand that my mother was not mean at all when she didn't allow us to go to the beach on our own.:p

Who says you can't do this? Being a child has nothing to do with it...I'd be right in there with the kids...I'm a 60+ year old kid!!!! Fun, fun photos.

What a powerful vision you had...how blessed is that sweet child for whom you prayed. One day, you will know her in heaven and she will thank you!
