Now, they're turning yellow!
I am the vine; you are the branches.
If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit;
apart from me you can do nothing.
Have you experienced walking on a shiny marble or glass floor and suddenly you held back your step because you thought you were stepping on nothing?
In our journey in this life where there are many unknown holes and pits, we can hold on to the promise that...
He will not let your feet slip or fall.He who watches over you will neither slumber nor sleep.Psalm 121:3
More Weekend Reflection here.
This week I have been counting my extra blessings. These are things I CAN live without but God blessed me with them and they give extra pleasure at present. He knows my heart's delight. And I take delight in Him.
The hammock in my patio. I sit here to rest after gardening.
My coffee maker . I've enjoyed unlimited cups of freshly brewed coffee.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.Psalm 84:11
The sofa in the corner of my bedroom. It's a gift from a friend. It's where I read books, blog, or crochet. My friend knew it was my idea of a green pasture.
Delight yourself in the LORD
and He will give you the desires of your heart.Psalm 37:4My laptop. I've done many projects with it!
My pocket camera. It's with me all the time. It's always in my purse when I go out and it hangs on my neck when I'm at home. God knows I love photography.
I shall make mention of the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has granted us....Isaiah 63:7
The list goes on and on. I'm so blessed. God has lavished me with His goodness. I must keep a thankful heart.
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all,how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?Romans 8:32
Do you have "extra blessings" that you want to thank God for?
When I was a teenager, I asked an older friend if there were beds in heaven. "I don't think so, my dear, because in heaven there are no more darkness. There should be no more nights so we don't need to sleep." Heaven instantly became unappealing to me! So never tell a teenager who loves sleep that there are no beds in heaven.
If you were a frequent visitor, you would notice that I haven't blogged for many days. It's because I'm trying to rest and get more sleep as I can. I'm feeling overworked and there are days when I'm all drained and what is left is just enough to make me crawl under cover, lay my head and dose off. Have you had those days?I'm sure you were most thankful for having a place to lay your aching back. Or were you too tired to even think of that! I attended a bridal shower party one time and one advice given to the bride to be was: invest on a good bed!
"Oh, thank you, God, for my bed!" I'm not sure how many times dear husband heard me say this but I always do, especially this week. Isn't it a blessing to have our own bed? There were years in my teenage life where I slept in our sofa. I could only own it late at night. So,whatever bed you have now, may it be bunk bed, twin beds or a posh one, thank God that you have your own!
And what I know, heaven is a place of REST, (and there are mansions there) most likely there must be beds there, and for sure it's a lot better than what I have now!
"....for He grants sleep to those He loves."Psalm 127:2
Our good friends took us to the floating restaurant. We met the couple just few years ago and they became real good friends. We have different native languages but we can talk heart to heart.
The restaurant is on the river, hence the name. We've been out for good meals with a big group but that was our first to be just the four of us. So it was special.
The big dining area was full of people but our hosts managed to find a table by the window. The serene river was very relaxing to see.
In few hours we forgot we were in a busy city. It was a good time to enjoy the company of friends.
They fed us with the food close to their heart. Ahhh, those food we used to enjoy...we savored them with much delight not just because of the taste but of the loving hospitality that was shown to us.
